Frequently asked questions
Everything about setup, pricing, and how your proposal system works. Still stuck? Ask the chat in the corner, or email hello@drivewayproposals.com.
How long until I'm set up and live?
Once you send us your logo (if you use one), contact information,
price sheet, and any customer terms, we build your custom proposal / price-quote system
and have you up and running within 24 hours (please allow for weekends).
Is there a setup fee?
Yes — a one-time $99 fee when you sign up. It covers building your
custom pricing into the system, uploading your logo and terms, and testing your live
form before you send a real proposal. Because that setup work is done up front, the $99
setup fee is non-refundable once we've begun building your system. After that, it's
$39.99/month, cancel anytime.
Can I customize the form itself?
To a point, yes, at no extra cost. Small tweaks — extra add-on items,
reworded labels, swapped fields — are included free: you can make many updates yourself
from your admin page, or email us and it's usually done the same day. Bigger structural
changes (a different calculation model entirely) are a separate conversation.
What happens when my prices change?
Log in and change them from your dashboard — it only takes a minute and
applies to your very next quote. Older, already-sent proposals still show the price your
customer actually saw.
Do I need to install anything?
No. We send you a customized link, which you save to your phone's home
screen — we walk you through this simple process. It looks and
functions just like an app, but nothing to download. See our
home-screen setup walkthrough for the quick steps.
Is the online signature legally valid?
Yes, across the U.S. The federal ESIGN Act applies nationwide, and
nearly every state has adopted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) — a few
states, such as New York and Illinois, have their own equivalent electronic-records
laws. Under these, a typed name with a recorded timestamp, IP address, and audit trail
generally carries the same legal weight as a handwritten signature for service
contracts. Contract rules vary by state and trade, so you're responsible for making sure
your proposals meet the requirements where you work.
Do I need Stripe to collect deposits?
Only if you want to accept credit cards using Stripe. Stripe Connect is
free and takes about ten minutes to set up on the Stripe site — or we can point your
accept page at however you already get paid (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Square, or check). Either way, the money
goes directly to you; it never passes through us.
What happens to old proposals and invoices?
We don't archive them long-term. Documents are deleted 90–120 days after
an invoice is marked closed, and we remind you beforehand so you can download anything for
your records. Your signed e-signature records are kept separately for 7 years as legal
proof the customer agreed to the price.
Can I see all the proposals and invoices I've sent in one place?
We don't keep a central archive of your sent documents — that's a
deliberate choice that keeps your data, and your customers' data, from sitting around
long-term. Instead, you're automatically copied (CC'd) on every proposal and invoice
that goes out, so your own email inbox is your running record. And before any documents
are deleted, we email you download links so you can save anything you want to keep.
Can I cancel?
Anytime — no contract, no cancellation fee beyond the initial setup.
Email us from the address on your account at
servicecancellations@drivewayproposals.com
and we'll stop billing at the end of your current month. Your proposal history stays in
your own inbox either way.
