Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Driveway Proposals LLC, doing business as "Driveway Proposals" ("we," "us"), handles information. It covers our contractor subscribers and visitors to our website. Where a contractor uses our tool to collect information about their own customers (homeowners), the contractor is responsible for that relationship and we act on the contractor's behalf as described in "Homeowner information" below.
1. Information we collect
- Account & business information you give us: business name, contact name, email, phone, license number (if provided), logo, pricing, add-ons, and terms.
- Proposal information entered into the form: your customer's name, email, phone, job address, and the job details needed to price a proposal, plus the computed amounts.
- Electronic-signature audit trail: signer name and email, timestamp, IP address, device/browser (user-agent), and a snapshot of the agreed terms and amounts.
- Payment information: subscription payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers. Deposits and invoice payments from your customers go directly to you and do not pass through us.
- Support & usage data: emails you send us, and basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service.
2. How we use information
To provide and operate the service (generate documents, send proposals and invoices, maintain the signature record), to bill and support you, to secure and improve the service, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your information, and we do not use AI to generate your pricing or proposals.
3. Service providers we share with
We share information only with a short list of vendors that help us run the service, under agreements that limit their use of it. For a list of vendors used, send a request to hello@drivewayproposals.com. Please allow for a response time of 3–5 business days.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
4. How long we keep it
Proposal and invoice documents are deleted approximately 90–120 days after an invoice is marked closed (with reminders beforehand). The electronic-signature audit trail is kept for 7 years, then deleted. Support/lead and account records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Information under an active dispute may be kept until it is resolved.
5. How we protect information
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and logging appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, particularly the long-retained audit trail. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by applicable law.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision. Several U.S. state privacy laws (including the Florida Digital Bill of Rights and laws in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and others) may apply. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise any right, email hello@drivewayproposals.com; we will verify your request and respond within the timeframe the law requires.
7. Homeowner information (contractor's customers)
When a contractor uses Driveway Proposals to prepare a proposal for their customer, the contractor decides what information is collected and is responsible for having any needed permission. In privacy terms, the contractor is the "controller" of their customers' data and Driveway Proposals acts as a "processor" handling it on the contractor's behalf. A homeowner with questions should contact the contractor they worked with.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential — for example, a session cookie that keeps you signed in through magic-link login. We also use third-party analytics software to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it, and email/marketing software that may use cookies or tracking pixels to measure how people engage with our website and the emails we send. These tools may collect information such as pages viewed, links clicked, and general device and approximate location data. We do not sell this information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. For material changes we will provide reasonable notice and update the date above.
