Using Square with Driveway Proposals
Quick answerYes, keep using Square. We handle the proposal, e-signature and invoice, and your customer pays you in Square. Then open the job, tap Record a payment, pick Square and save. Square payments don't record themselves.
You don't have to give up Square. Driveway Proposals does the paperwork: the proposal, the e-signature, the start date and the invoice. Square keeps taking the money.
One-time setup
- In your dashboard, open Ready-Made Notes.
- In the How to Pay box, tap Change How Customers Pay, tick Square, tap Next, then paste your Square payment link. For example: *Pay by card with Square: [your link]*.
- Use the arrows to put it where you want in the list, tap Looks Good, then Save Changes. It prints on your invoices.
On each job
- Send the proposal. Your customer signs it.
- They pay the deposit in Square: your payment link, your card reader, or a Square invoice.
- In Jobs & payments, open the job. Under Record a payment, choose Deposit, enter the amount, pick Square and tap Record Payment.
- Do the same for the balance when the job is done.
That keeps the job, your Reports and your bookkeeper download up to date.
Good to know
- Square payments don't show up here on their own. Record each one, or the job will still show money owed.
- Want card payments to record themselves? Turn on card payments through Stripe. It's optional, and you can keep offering Square too.
- Square's fees are between you and Square. We don't add any.
